I use pencils, and pencils only (if you don’t count my fingers used for shading).
I have nothing against color, in fact I love colour in art, but color has a lot against me. We can’t reach an understanding and cooperate. I hope that one day this will change and I will begin to use color. I’m not complaining though, I love pencils. Despite what you might think, they’re not just grey and boring, they’re a tool that allows one to look beyond the colour, to focus on tones and shades and appreciate them in their simplicity.
Keep up the good work! You and color will reconcile one day π
I sure hope so! π Although I love my pencils, it would be nice to see some more colour on paper π Thanks so much for the comment and following my blog
Don`t decry the humble pencil – it is a wonderful tool.
I’m not decrying the pencil, I have a deep and profound love for it. I’m decrying my ability to use colour π
Bon courage et bon chance!
Merci π
I’ve used pencils a lot to train my eye to see subtle differences in contrast and shading. I would never diss the humble pencil! Keep going, it will only get better. And hey, some day you might even like to try COLORED pencils! Thanks for stopping by my blog!
Thanks for the comment π I actually own colored pencils π but whenever I think of using them for a drawing, I take a look at them and then say ‘Naaaah, I’ll stick to my pencils, there’s too many colors to choose from.’ π
wooden pencils … a wondrous scent.
π What about wood-less pencils? Useful, but not quite the same experience π
